Hudson Music Project Full Lineup Announced!

The Hudson Music Project is just over a month away, and the full lineup has just been released today. Here's what that full lineup looks like:

Now, not only is this an eclectic lineup, but it has a lot of people online asking the question, who? A lot of these names are very well known, but others have not necessarily gained that type of hype. So to help all you folks expand your musical horizons, let's choose a few of these "mysterious" artists on the lineup and introduce you to their tunes, starting with a few now, a few later...let's not overload your brains with too much awesome all at once!!

Off today's announcement, let's get a little funky, a little soulful, and a whole lot of hip-hoping. Here's some styling from Woody's Produce.

Another newly introduced artist will help you blast off into space with his interstellar feel, here's Moon Boots!

One of our local favorites, bringing funk, soul and jazz back to the forefront of our attentions, Exmag will be taking the stage. Cannot wait to join the Lowtemp family at his set!!

Speaking about the funk, we are so ready to get down with The Floozies! There is no way to now feel good when jamming out to their tracks!!

You can enjoy these artists for now, and we will share more as we creep on closer to the show. This is turning out to be the summer of The Hudson for sure. There's rock, funk, soul, hip-hop, dubstep, house...everything will pretty much be represented there. With four stages and an expectation of 20,000 people, this will be one hell of a weekend to remember... or forget...depending on how you do ;)

New York Festival Watch: Hudson Music Project

Earlier in the year, it was confirmed that Camp Bisco would be going on a hiatus with a possible return next year. After over a decade going strong, most festy heads were a little daunted by the news, after all, Camp Bisco was the premier camping festival with the power house lineups that blew away the crowds.

But have no fear!! The answer to your New York summer festival is here!! Coming in for it's inaugural year, the Hudson Music Project will ease your pain of loosing Camp Bisco for this summer.

Taking places upstate New York, in Saugerties, the Hudson Music Project is bringing a huge lineup and tons of other festival goodness to you for three days, July 11-13.

Hudson Music Project is put together by the same management group that ran Camp Bisco, the same guys doing Counterpoint at this very moment, and countless other festivals around the country. We're talking about  MCP Presents (Meat Camp Productions Presents). These guys have tons of experience with throwing wildly successful events. If you've ever been to a festival, you know how big the community gets and hard it can be to keep things 100%. MCP brings a festy together like none other, with the perfect amount of organization and professionalism. Being that they've done this before, I couldn't wait to see the musical lineup, and holy sh*t.

Tauk
Tokimonsta
Big Gigantic courtesy of HeyReverb.com

Kendrick Lamar, Bassnectar, Modest Mouse, STS9, Moby, Big Gigantic, Excision, Paper Diamond, Kill Paris, Bro Safari, Tokimonsta, and even Long Island's very own Tauk!! The list goes on and on, and we couldn't be more excited. It's a perfect blend of all different genres. This is about music, and very talented artists will be bringing it with their all. Make sure to check out the full lineup and create you very own schedule to help you keep track of who's playing on what stage and making sure you see all your favorites and see someone new!

Another thing that MCP is keeping around for this festivals are their ever growing art installations. Every year they get more interesting and cooler, with tons of extraordinary visual artists coming in to do live painting and other interactive installations. For Hudson Music Project, there will actually be an Art Bazaar. Not too much information has been released about it, but the fact that it's even going to exist is pretty damn exciting.

Of course there will be vendors, workshops, and probably a Ferris wheel  knowing MCP. There is also a big focus on Clean Vibes. Clean Vibes is a project that basically gives incentives to people to get help and keep the festival grounds clean. There has been way too much waste at so many of these festivals, from cigarette butts all over, trash just left in places, and even people leaving entire camping supplies behind. Clean Vibes will provide you with two bags, one for recycling and one for trash. you fill those bags up and bring them back to the Clean Vibes Trading Post, and you can "cash" them in for "money". In other words, more recycling and trash equals more points to spend on cool gear. Not only is it getting you swag, but it's also very rewarding helping clean the environment.

Tickets are just over with camping $200, so go and grab them. Of curse you have the option for VIP camping, EZ Tents (which include a limited edition tent, sleeping bags, air mattress and a solar powered light!!), and even Glamping, glamour camping!

EGP Festival Watch 2013: Camp Bisco 12

Wassup everyone? It's Wish here, about to drop the first look into festivals this year. Year round music festivals are happening all over the world. Every year they are becoming more popular and different festivals have become known as the ones to go to. With this wave of increased festival participation, new music festivals with their own flares have also been emerging all over, some of which are definitely ones to go to. As we get closer to the summer time, and already some festy tickets have gone on presale and sold out in record times, we are going to start letting you know about some of our selection of favorites. From new festivals to old favorites, we're going to start, now.

Last year I had the opportunity to attend my very first festy, Camp Bisco 11. Going in as press, as well as getting a vendors and campers perspective, the whole experience was mind blowing, in a nut shell. It also set me up to what set off a small festival tour, essentially preparing me for what to expect, what to bring, and how to mold into the community that is built in less than a day.

Getting Through the Crowd by Nick Soley

A Small Portion of the Camping by Times Union
Held upstate New York at a place known as the Indian Lookout Country Club in Mariaville, Camp Bisco will become home to tens of thousands of people from around the world this July. This year will make for Camp Bisco 12, and probably the largest one to date. This is a festival that has grown and morphed over the years, but without ever loosing that essential artistic and community vibe. Even when the initial boost of people came in for Camp 10, and left the townsfolk not to happy, MCP Presents showed their professionalism by making Camp 11 one of the smoothest to date. With another new festival under their belt (CounterPoint), this will be a fantastic and hopefully very smooth year for them. So far they have our full attention.

It Get's a Little Crazy by Wish

There is so much to do at camp. Of course there is a very large emphasis on the music with three main stages, side stages, RV DJs, campsite parties, and musical ice cream trucks. Silent Disco is an awesome experience when the stages shut the sound off. There are live art exhibits, projection screens, and plenty of people making their own art. There is basically a vendor village, with a line of vendors selling everything you can imagine. Walk far down enough to get to food you can buy.

Dancing the Night Away by Wish

It was a wild time last year, and everyone is very excited to go back again this year. The lineup was dropped today, and it's looking quite appealing. Some favorites I'm looking forward to catching live again include Bassnectar, Zoogma, Gramatik, Break Science, Designer Drugs, Heroes x Villians, Lotus, and of course The Disco Biscuits themselves. The released list is not the full list. There are many more acts to be released in the coming days, and oyu will find the updates here.

Water Flower by Wish
Hooping in the Fields by QRO Mag
Unfortunately, early bird tickets are sold out. Ticket's are still under $200, and there's vip/platinum available, so now's the time to grab them. This about getting all your friends into a large campsite. There will probably be a bunch of contests that will include carpoolers, themed camp sites, and who knows what else. This is a big one, and there will be plenty of surprises around every corner.

New Years Eve Coverage: Lights All Night

Hey guys, it’s Meghan, here to tell you about the three epic days I experienced at Lights All Night. Starting just two years ago in 2010, this EDM fest has tremendously expanded from one single New Years Eve night to three whole days of raging, brought to us by MCP Presents and Highland Entertainment. This year, the Dallas festival switched to a new venue at Fair Park in order to accommodate the massive list of artists. I think I need to begin by recognizing just how killer this lineup was. With a solid mix of mainstream and up and coming DJ’s, some of my favorites include Alvin Risk, Archnemesis, Bassnectar, Diplo, Zeds Dead, Nervo, Cookie Monsta, Griz, Feed Me, and oh so many more. The biggest struggle each day definitely was deciding which stage to attend.

After seeing a countless number of artists, I have to say the ones who stuck with me the most were Zeds Dead and Bassnectar. Playing back to back at the main stage on Day 2, these two DJ’s absolutely killed it and the light shows were out of this world. As for Bassnectar, his drops were spot on and his energy truly electrified through the crowd.

Having been to my fair share of festivals, the layout of this one really impressed me. There were four stages, each in a large climate controlled tent, with plenty of space for professional dancers, vendors selling cool rave gear, and most importantly, for people to womp around. There were also porter potties in each of the tents (one tent even had a real bathroom) and bars with a lot of drink options and minimal lines. In between the four tents was a DJ car that continually bumped music so there was never a dull moment while walking between sets.

Additionally, the crowd was stellar. Everyone was incredibly friendly and wore awesome rave attire despite the cold temperature. I’m talking colored wigs, spirit hoods, face paint, tutus, prism glasses, fur boots, some incredible hand-made kandi, and anything and everything else you can imagine. One girl in particular wore hand crafted go-go boots covered with flowers and had curly hair filled with flowers glued to bobby pins. She danced around placing the flowers from her hair to the heads of others as if a little fairy was flying around spreading her magic fairy dust.

There were also a lot of talented glovers at the scene with light shows going on everywhere which actually inspired me to get a pair of my own. I bought them on Day 1 allowing me the rest of the three days to learn some moves, make new friends, and give some trippy light shows of my own.

With each year topping the last, this festival is definitely one you don’t want to miss. Peace, love, unity, and respect everyone!

Music Festival Watch 2012: CounterPoint: Whatever Fitz - by Fitz

What's up guys, it's Fitz. We're a few days away from hitting up CounterPoint Music Festival in Atlanta, GA, this weekend and we're super excited to say the least. I've been passing the time listening to some new music and starting to plan out my weekend, because when you go to a festival with a lineup as crazy as this one you're going to need some prep-time if you want to miss as little as possible.

Click For Links To All Artists!
Thusday is a smaller day when looking at the rest of the festival, but of course CounterPoint cant let you have an easy time choosing between ten acts on two stages. Personally I plan on starting the day off with Nobody Beats The Drum at 6:15 in the evening, followed by Adventure Club at 7:15. My prediction is after that set my night is going to have alot of running cause I want to catch all of the following sets. 8:45 gives you the choice between Run Dmt's heavy hitting psychedelic dub or Beats Antique's unique mix of world music and electronica. The real choice is between Colorado's best saxophone infused electronica with Big Gigantic, or check out Up Until Now, who brings a jamband sensibility to the world of electronic music, and are playing with STS9's David Murphy. Then I'm going to try and split time wisely there, but I wouldn't doubt Dom and Jeremy trapping me over at the beat tent.

Pretty Lights
Adventure Club
Friday is when the festival really starts to come alive as 32 acts come on the four stages. The day looks like its starting with Dr. Fameus, who you may remember as the drummer from the Disco Biscuits at 2:45 in the afternoon on the Blackbeat Stage. ill probably then make my way over to new york rapper Theophilous London before chilling out with chillwave artist Washed Out. after that things seem to be getting a little tight as im trying to catch Mimosa, Tokimonsta and Atmosphere all within an hour and a half, before turning down Crystal Castles and heading over to Archnemesis, which is quickly becoming one of my most anticipated sets and a good way to start off the craziness of friday night. 7:30 youll find me at Feed Me, rocking out to his high energy electro before letting Excision drop one of the most agressive sets of the weekend, with his signiture brand of  heavy metal influenced dubstep, but be wary because youre going to need your energy to make it back over to the point stage for the king of festival dubstep, Bassnectar then I hope I have enough energy to make it to R3hab and A-trak afterwards before preparing for Saturday's non-stop party

Com Truise starts things off early in the afternoon at 12:30, but come 1:15 your going to have  to choose between jam and electronica heavyweights Zoogma, the heavy hitting deathstep duo Mantis, and trap superstar and ATL native Herobust. Whatever time you have after, enjoy, that because your going to be hard pressed to find time to stand still after 3:30 because saturdays lineup is packed. 3:45 brings you Paper Diamond followed by 12th Planet at the Beat Stage, while Toro Y Moi rocks the Counterpoint Main Stage. Emancipator will tear it up at 5 at the Blackbeat and half of ATL's own outkast, Big Boi on the Point Stage. Conspirator starts at 6, and though I'll be jamming hard for the first half hour, im going to have to move over to the Blackbeat for the Pretty Lights Music showcase (minus Elliot Lipp and Break Science) and Paul Basic at 6:15 and will probably stay there through Supervision, Michal Menert and Gramatik. though you may want to go check out such massive names as Steve Angello, Zeds Dead, Lotus, or Skrillex, i dont think i can turn down six hours of pretty lights music, because come 10:15 Pretty Lights brings counterpoint to its climax. Seeing 20,000+ people groove to such funky futuristic bass mixed with just about any style of music you can think of at summer camp and electric zoo are some of my favorite memories of the summer and I can't wait to be there again. If pretty lights isnt your scene, Porter Robinson and The M Machine are on call at the other end of the park to keep you moving until the late night sets start, but no matter what makes you move, you'll find something Saturday night. Ghostland Observatory and Laidback Luke keep things grooving on the beat stage while Alvin Risk and Zedd end the weekend with a bang of high energy electrohouse.

So that's what my music schedule is looking like two days before the festi. There's sure to so much to do on the festival grounds. I can't even begin to cover all the vendors, the forest, and the potential surprises around every corner. Make your schedule, get a good nights rest and come say hi in Georgia. CounterPoint Music Festival: Artistically Speaking

With CounterPoint Music Festival pretty much right around the corner, we here at EGP are getting excited for all the amazing news coming out on the event. So far, the lineup has been released, a college fan contest is running,  and now a little more information about the artistic side is coming to light.

Dear Readers and Camp Bisco Followers

It's almost here! Just about a month away now! Camp Bisco will be my first "official" festival ever, so I'm going to update ya'll on how I'm preparing, what we're going to do while there, and of course have awesome video and photos for you! But before we get into final month madness, a message from Frank Potter, the owner of Indian Lookout Country Club, your Camp Bisco destination.

Just...WOW!
XXXXXXXXXXX

To our Camp Bisco Friends,

We at ILCC have grown to love hosting all of Camp Bisco's fans, after all these years. We have found all of you to be cooperative in many ways and passionate about the music that draws you here each Summer.

As the weather continues to get nicer, up here in Mariaville, we know that many of you are already making your plans to join us again. This year I'm asking all of you for a little help with my neighbors. I ask that you show them the same respect you've shown us, by not blocking their driveways, not going to the bathroom on their lawns and not throwing your trash on their property. Remember, they help to make Camp Bisco possible- please help us to keep the right to assemble year after year possible.

Thank you for your cooperation and help in respecting the neighbors and property, while you are here at Camp Bisco.

Frank Potter
Owner, ILCC

XXXXXXXXXXX

Mr. Potter is a straight shooter folks, and after opening his land this many years and moving forward, take heed to his word. This will be a wonderful event, and you can help make it great for everyone. Even if they are within a few miles radius! There will be tons of traffic too, which is why they are opening gates earlier! Here's what they posted on the site:

"Beginning at 9pm on Wednesday, July 11, Camp Bisco will officially open the gates to ILCC. Come in, pick your camping spot, get set up and ready for the festivities on Thursday. In addition to opening the gates a day early, we are introducing a few other things to help expedite the entry process, including adding a new gate and doubling our search and ticket lines. Plan on arriving as early as possible to get the best camping spot and ensure you are set up in time to catch all the music! See you in July!"

I can't wait to see this all go down, it's so huge!! With lots more to come, this is the road to Bisco!!
